Discussion Questions

  1. What does the Bible mean when it says, “In your anger, do not sin?”
  2. What does it mean to "not let the sun go down while you are still angry and do not give the devil a foothold?"
  3. How does God want us to deal with anger?

Answers

  1. Instead of allowing the emotion of anger to turn into sinful actions, we should be kind, merciful, and forgiving.  We must forgive others just as God forgives us when we ask for forgiveness.
  2. Let the anger go before the day ends.  Holding onto anger will allow the devil to show hatred.
  3. Take time to process it and ask God to give you all the wisdom to manage it.

 Closing Prayer

Dear Lord,

When I feel angry, please calm my mind and heart with Your kind and gentle words.

I seek Your divine intervention to control my anger and to let Your love bring peace.

Give me the strength to control anger and replace it with love and understanding.

Help me to see others through Your eyes so that I will respond to anger with kindness and compassion.

In Jesus’ name, I pray.  Amen.
